The Teaching Hospital
Sinai, with a mission that includes the teaching of future generations of
health professionals, shares many of the characteristics of a university-owned
hospital. Its own distinguished full-time faculty, many of whom are nationally
and internationally recognized experts in their fields, hold teaching positions
at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the University of Maryland
School of Medicine. Several thousand applications are received every year
for the graduate medical training positions available at Sinai Hospital. Total
resident physicians and fellows based at Sinai for FY 2001 was 145.
Approximately 400 medical students receive clinical training
each year at Sinai. It is a training site for The Johns Hopkins University
medical students during their mandatory ampulator and third year internal
medicine clerkships.
