Baltimore is a dynamic city that continues to evolve while holding on to its maritime heritage. Since 1600, the Baltimore waterways have been a passage for ships carrying commercial cargo and new citizens. It lies farther west than any other major Atlantic port, a point that endeared its harbors to shippers. But there is more to this town than being everyone’s favorite port of call. Baltimore is a city of lively, charming and unique neighborhoods.

Each one of Baltimore’s neighborhoods has its own character, history and cuisine, from Little Italy, a pasta lovers paradise complete with two bocce ball courts to the trendy, hot location of Canton where old factories now house thriving retail and eclectic entertainmaint establishments. There’s also the oldest section of the city, Fells Point, that has the feel of an old English neighborhood with cobblestone streets, unique shops and of course, your choice of friendly neighborhood pubs. Opposite of this quaint, quiet scene is the Inner Harbor East, a bustling hot spot with its own attractions, retail shops, restaurants and two new hotels on the way. Keep going and you’ll find Mount Vernon, the cultural center of the city. Here you’ll find the Peabody Conservatory of Music, The Walters Art Gallery, and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption, the firt Roman Catholic cathedral in the U.S. The list could keep going and what you will quickly realize is that Baltimore is one place where there is a home for everyone.
