The good news: Rents in Roxbury are low. The encouraging news: The neighborhood is undergoing revitalization and commercial development, as evidenced by the 2001 opening of the Grove Hall Mall. Grass-roots efforts also were behind the creation of Roxbury Heritage State Park.

Along with several parks, schools, and churches, Roxbury features a multitude of housing options and various ethnic shops. Double- and triple-decker buildings offer low rents and downtown convenience.
