Licensed for 515 beds, the WakeMed New Bern Avenue campus is an acute-care facility that serves patients in eastern North Carolina. The facility provides 24-hour emergency care, and has the only 24-hour free-standing children's emergency department in the state. The facility also is the designated regional trauma center for Wake County.
