Downtown Disney

The Disneyland® park keeps kids of all ages busy during the day and evening, but at Downtown Disney, the night belongs to the adults. Kids are welcome, but this Disney offering was designed to entertain, feed, and amaze the over-18 crowd.

For those who want to rest their feet after standing in line for their favorite rides all day, the AMC® Theatres shows films in a 60,000-square-foot complex that features loveseat-style stadium seating. Sports enthusiasts will find jock heaven at the ESPN Zone®. Every seat in the 35,000-square-foot complex provides a view of at least one of the 175 TV monitors that broadcast diverse sporting events. There also are luxury skybox viewing rooms, and a "Sports Arena" that contains hundreds of interactive sports challenges, and video and virtual reality games.

Downtown Disney has its share of interesting music venues. The House of Blues® and Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen both offer live music every night except Monday. And for a total cultural experience, the Latin-influenced Y Arriba! Y Arriba! restaurant and club features dance music and special performances at night, along with fashion shows, poetry and literature readings, and celebrity appearances during the day.

Opportunities abound for memorable dining in a variety of cuisines. A jungle atmosphere surrounds you in the Rainforest Café, which features Mexican, Asian, and Caribbean cuisine—along with the occasional indoor thunderstorm. The Catal Restaurant offers Greek and African specialties, brought to you by the world-renowned chef of the Patina restaurants. Y Arriba! Y Arriba! specializes in traditional Latin appetizers, known as tapas, served family style. Or experience cuisine of the "Big Eas" while enjoying the music at the New Orleans-influenced Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. Rock, hip-hop, and jazz serve as the background music for the Mississippi Delta-inspired menu at The House of Blues.

Ready to shop ’til you drop? Downtown Disney's offers a large selection of stores. Their World of Disney™ store is the largest Disney retail outlet in California. It carries home décor and sleepwear, in addition to more traditional Disney offerings. The Build-A-Bear Workshop™ lets you design the teddy bear of your dreams, from the type of stuffing it contains, to the bear’s name, to the outfit it wears. Or you can let your creativity go wild at the LEGO® Imagination Center, which offers no fewer than 400 types of LEGO products. Many other shops specialize in cosmetics, fragrances, watches, beach products, leather goods, sunglasses, jewelry, art, and even those can’t-live-without refrigerator magnets.
