Knott's Berry Farm

Once upon a time during the Depression, there was a simple 20-acre family berry farm that sold plants, berries, jams, boysenberry pies, and home-cooked chicken. Over the years, that farm prospered, sprouting a 160-acre, one-of-a-kind amusement park known as Knott's Berry Farm. They still serve fried chicken and pie like in the old days, but they’ve added more than 100 rides that appeal to daredevils and young children alike.

At the heart of the park is Ghost Town, which features authentic buildings transported from Wild West mining towns, and cowboys engaging in mock gunfights. This 1880s boomtown is where you'll find Ghostrider, one of the world's largest wooden roller coasters, along with the Timber Mountain Log Ride and the Calico Railroad. Kids of all ages can enjoy a ride on an authentic stagecoach.

Other distinctive areas include Fiesta Village, the Knott's tribute to Spanish California, with Montezooma's Revenge, where you go from 0 to 60 in just three seconds; and a 100-year-old carousel, where you can ride on hand-carved ostriches, camels, zebras, giraffes, pigs, cats, lions, tigers, and horses. The Boardwalk is like an old-fashioned amusement park. It's home to the thrilling XCELERATOR, a '50s-themed roller coaster; and Perilous Plunge, a stomach-churning water ride. True thrill-seekers will enjoy Boomerang, a ride that turns itself upside down six times in less than 60 seconds.

Children (ages 2-7) can enjoy the excitement of Camp Snoopy, with more than 30 attractions specifically for the little ones and created with a "Peanuts" comic-strip theme. Parents can join the kids on some of the rides, but some are for tiny tykes only.
