Set on a 44-acre campus and licensed for 251 beds, Kaiser Permanente Harbor City Medical Center includes two major outpatient medical office buildings. Many of its 175 staff physicians are affiliated with Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Supporting them are 1,800 other medical and administrative professionals.

Harbor City Medical Center recently received a score of 94, out of a possible 100, from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital's Breast Clinic permits those who develop symptomatic breast problems to quickly see a provider, and its Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Program is one of the area's most comprehensive screening programs for colon cancer.
