Jackson Memorial Hospital 1611 Northwest 12th Avenue With 1,567 licensed beds, Jackson Memorial Hospital serves as Miami–Dade County’s only full-service provider for the indigent and medically indigent. The hospital, which opened in 1918, also is the county’s only public hospital and the state’s largest teaching hospital—it serves as the main teaching institution for the University of Miami School of Medicine.
