St. John’s Queens Hospital 90-02 Queens Boulevard A hospital on the move, St. John’s Queens Hospital was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1891 and its name denoted its then-location—St. John's Long Island City Hospital. The hospital moved to bigger quarters after a decade, and in 1961 moved again, this time to Queens. Rechristened St. John’s Queens Hospital, the institution has been expanded and renovated three times since coming to Queens.
