Temple University Hospital was founded in 1892 by Dr. Russell Conwell as a 20-bed facility. Today, TUH is a 514-bed tertiary medical center.

In addition to providing quality medical care to over 20,000 inpatients and 150,000 outpatients annually, Temple University Hospital is a certified Level I regional trauma center and has one of the busiest emergency departments in the region.

Temple is also one of the largest adult heart transplant programs in the United States, and provides nationally recognized expertise in Pulmonology, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Gastroenterology, and Orthopedics/Sports Medicine.
