Situated to the north of North Philadelphia, the Olney-Oak Lane section of the city consists of places with familiar names such as Feltonville, Fern Rock, Logan, Melrose Park, Oak Lane, Ogontz, and Olney.

Oak Lane
Home to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Philadelphia Community College, West Oak Lane offers living options within the midst of the handsome, irreplaceable stone homes that grace the neighborhood. At the end of the Broad Street line and bordering Montgomery County, West Oak Lane offers easy access to Center City.

West Oak Lane has historically consisted of working and middle class families, striving to maintain a sound quality of life. West Oak Lane is located in the northwest section of Philadelphia, and borders Cheltenham Township in Montgomery County. Ogontz Avenue is the main thoroughfare through West Oak Lane. The neighborhood is accessible to public transportation. The neighborhood is composed primarily of brick front row, semi-detached and single-family homes. The average age of the houses is 40-50 years old.

Interspersed throughout the neighborhood are small commercial/retail strips. West Oak Lane is home to many community, cultural, civic, religious and educational organizations. Simons Recreation Center, one of the city’s most active family recreation centers is located in the heart of West Oak Lane.
