Morrison Planetarium Star Shows

For a truly unique look at the heavens, visit the Morrison Planetarium, where a one-of-a-kind, specially designed star projector casts a field of 3,800 stars. The planetarium, part of the California Academy of Sciences, was named for Alexander Francis Morrison, a San Francisco attorney and philanthropist whose widow largely contributed to the funding of the planetarium.

In addition to its star shows, the Morrison Planetarium offers a lecture series, musical concerts, and laser shows. Attending any event under the planetarium's 65-foot dome is spectacular entertainment and a great way to learn more about the universe.

Location
The Morrison Planetarium is located inside the California Academy of Sciences in the Earth & Space Hall. The Academy of Sciences building is in Golden Gate Park at 55 Concourse Drive. Most parking is free within Golden Gate Park, but spaces are limited. Use of alternative forms of transportation is encouraged. Maps of the Academy area can be found at their Web site.

Sky shows are at 2 p.m. on weekdays, and hourly on the hour, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., on weekends.

Children (6-17) $1.25
