PIER 39

San Francisco's PIER 39 is not just a "pier"; it's a 45-acre entertainment complex with a vast array of stores (110 in all), 11 full-service restaurants, and numerous attractions. You can shop, play in the arcade, watch the street entertainers, and take a ride on the antique carousel. PIER 39 is home to the Cinemax Theater, which features "The Great San Francisco Adventure," a 35-minute film that highlights the history of San Francisco; and "The Living Sea," a 40-minute film focusing on the world's oceans.

At the UnderWater World Aquarium at PIER 39, you'll move through 300 feet of clear acrylic tunnels as you view underwater life in this two-story aquarium habitat. And if you step outside to K-Dock in the West Marina, you'll get an up-close look at the hundreds of California sea lions that have made PIER 39 their permanent home. PIER 39 also offers a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, and San Francisco Bay.

Location
PIER 39 is located on the northernmost point of the San Francisco peninsula, two blocks east of Fisherman's Wharf. Visitor parking is available in the PIER 39 Garage, located directly across the street from the Entrance Plaza. The garage is open 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Disabled access
Access areas for disabled visitors include ramps and five elevators to the second level.

Special considerations

• PIER 39 restaurants offer validated parking for the PIER 39 Garage (one hour at lunch, two hours for dinner after 6 p.m.).
• Major credit cards and traveler's checks are honored throughout PIER 39. ATMs are located on both levels of the complex.
