Offering 860 beds between its Ballard and First Hill campuses, Swedish Medical Center ranks as the Northwest's largest medical center. Its comprehensive services range from outpatient to inpatient to home care. Among its 4,000 employees are 1,500 physicians representing virtually every medical specialty and subspecialty.

The medical center has the most active surgical program in the Pacific Northwest, with more than 22,000 surgeries a year. It performs twice as many cardiac surgeries as any other state program and more total joint replacements than any other West Coast hospital.
