Tucson Neighborhoods
Just as five flags (American, Spanish, Mexican, Confederate, and Arizona) long have flown over Tucson, the city’s architecture is diverse in origin. Buyers and renters can go classic Southwestern (adobe), historic (European styles from the 1880s on), or modern (apartments, condos, townhomes, and planned-community dwellings). Best of all, housing dollars stretch pretty far. The average home sells for around $160,000, and $375,000 can buy a four-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot home on one acre. Not all regions are equal, of course: Price tags on luxury homes in the Catalina Foothills, for instance, can have 10 or 11 digits. Greater Tucson’s neighborhoods include: Central Tucson
- Downtown Tucson
- Northeast Tucson
- Northwest Tucson
- Southeast Tucson
- Southwest Tucson
- West Tucson
